Wall finish: Soft-drifted, 2-color, faux-marble glaze. The illusion
of large blocks of stone enhance the effect of the drifted marble motif.
Above the fireplace: A keystone and structural elements from the existing
fireplace structure were incorporated into a 1-point perspective trompe
l'oeil stone facade.
Feature Wall: In keeping with the central theme of
the arches, blocks and keystones, we designed and painted a three panel
opening with a projecting stone frame. The soft, summery sky was created
with a three-color glaze.
The stained glass window effect is a painted replica of the same "real"
stained glass window found in the clients¹ master bath. Twelve
colors were matched and blended to achieve it¹s transparent effect.
The hand-painted
branches and curious bluebird added the final touch which created for
her a "notion of nature".
